Welcome to The Fast. In this first season of We Care Spa’s podcast and wellness series, we invite nine of our favorite thought-leaders and innovators to share their own joy of healthy living.
Hosted by Chairman of the Board at ISPA, Patrick Huey, conversations explore new beginnings, ancient fundamentals, the realities of starting a business, the power of forgiveness, microbiomes, why babies like to dance, and more. In every episode we see the moments of clarity when a person throws what no longer serves a purpose into the fire, and how that choice moves them forward.
With over 17 years of experience in the global luxury hospitality and wellness industries, Patrick Huey has built a dynamic career as an international leader within this elite field.
Patrick’s expertise and his love of conversation lend naturally to his position this season on The Fast. He says “What I was most excited to see was how such different guests all responded to these ‘ah-hah’ moments. I love to hear the energy in their voice when they come to their own understanding of what wellness means.”
David Rossi learned a definition of happiness growing up in the wealth and golden handcuffs of Silicon Valley. Was what he learned a definition that provided true stability, sustainability, and everlasting internal happiness? No.
David explored all realms of possibilities towards finding true everlasting happiness. His goal to apply these lessons to his life. As he engrossed himself in a multitude of self-help books, philosophers and spiritual teachers. He found wisdom, consciousness and answers.
It started with an ingredient label. Amra Hajdarevic was pregnant and expecting a daughter. Desperate to provide her newborn with the opportunity to live free of environmental toxins and the chemicals in everyday products, Amra began researching and studying everything she could.
Today, Amra’s toothpaste formula is just one of a dozen products in the Terra & Co. lineup, promising (and delivering) holistic oral care that combines Ayurvedic medicine with the highest dental standards.
When Jena Covello was diagnosed with endometriosis and adenomyosis at age 23, she set out on a path that would dramatically change the course of her life. After years of pain, five surgeries, and countless differing opinions from Western doctors, Jena put her trust in a holistic practitioner and began educating herself on natural medicine and healing remedies.
Agent Nateur is the product of Jena’s mission to understand the root of her health issues, find healing, and share her learnings with others.
Ashish Pandya is among the most accomplished wellness trainers and Ayurveda experts in the industry. His modalities and tools have been taught to over 50,000 therapists at premiere spas around the world, including Montage Palmetto Bluff, Glen Ivey, and our own We Care Spa. As a leader in meditation, he has taught trauma workshops for the families of 9/11 victims, and lead happiness programs across the country.
The conversation delves into topics such as forgiveness, compassion, and his own Shankara Skincare.
Cyndie Spiegel is a TedX speaker, a certified yoga and meditation teacher, and most recently the author of the bestselling book “Microjoys: Finding Hope Especially When Life Is Not Ok” where she uses the loss and the grief caused by the most difficult year of her life as a platform to find even the smallest rays of light.
Her story encourages us to sit comfortably, or uncomfortably, in these moments so that we can indeed find the smallest joys in the face of our greatest challenges.
Susana Belen is the founder and lead educator of We Care Spa. In her own words, “I started with healing my own body. And now, I do my part to set an example and give whatever guidance I can.”
Her mission is not just heal and transform lives, but also to educate and empower, giving people the experience, knowledge and tools for an integrated and sustainable life of health, beauty, peak performance, and purposeful living.
